What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around? Sharing inspiring stories from his own experiences as a circle maker, Mark Batterson will help you uncover your heart’s deepest desires and God-given dreams and unleash them through the kind of audacious prayer that God delights to answer.

The Writings of Clement of Rome by Clement of Rome. $2.99 on 5/30/13
Who the Clement was to whom these writings are ascribed, cannot with absolute certainty be determined. The general opinion is, that he is the same as the person of that name referred to by St. Paul (Phil. iv.
3). The writings themselves contain no statement as to their author. The first, and by far the longer of them, simply purports to have been written in the name of the Church at Rome to the Church at Corinth. But in the catalogue of contents prefixed to the ms. they are both plainly
attributed to one Clement; and the judgment of most scholars is, that, in regard to the first Epistle at least, this statement is correct, and
that it is to be regarded as an authentic production of the friend and fellow-worker of St. Paul. This belief may be traced to an early period in the history of the Church. It is found in the writings of Eusebius (Hist. Eccl., iii. 15), of Origen (Comm. in Joan., i. 29), and others.
The internal evidence also tends to support this opinion. The doctrine, style, and manner of thought are all in accordance with it; so that, although, as has been said, positive certainty cannot be reached on the subject, we may with great probability conclude that we have in this
Epistle a composition of that Clement who is known to us from Scripture as having been an associate of the great apostle.
Hinds’ Feet on High Places: The Original and Complete Allegory with a Devotional for Women by Darien B. Cooper. $1.99 on 5/30/13
What can be more exciting than the Hinds’ Feet on High Places allegory? It is the allegory along with a daily devotional penned by a woman who has proven her walk with the Lord and her writing gift with other inspirational books, including You Can Be the Wife of a Happy Husband and the 1999 release, You Can Be the Happy Mom of an Empty Nest.

Most of these devotions are “quiet time” meditations, ones that will draw you closer to your Lord Jesus. They will help you to understand your own struggles and regain confidence in your walk with the Lord.

I know that you sense Him drawing you ever nearer to Him. That’s why you are considering this devotional. Some of you even feel your heart aching for more of His Presence in your life.

This allegory with the devotionals will help satisfy the yearning of your heart. He is challenging you to keep saying “yes” to your Lord as He beckons you on in your own journey to the High Places.

Not a Fan: Becoming a Completely Committed Follower of Jesus by Kyle Idleman. $3.79 on 5/30/13
Pastor Kyle Idleman doesn’t just want to be a fan of Jesus, he wants to full heartedly commit to him and be a follower of Jesus. But how can you make the leap from fan to follower? In Not a Fan Idleman uses biblical examples to show how the people who met Jesus also had to decide if they were fans or followers, and what it meant for them to then become followers. Being a follower doesn’t mean that you go to church every week, that you slap a Jesus fish on the back of your car, and that you give to charity. That’s what a fan does. What a follower of Jesus does, Idleman observes, is die to themselves each and every moment of the day because ‘you can’t say yes to following Jesus unless you say no to living for yourself.’ In this three part book Idleman helps you to discover whether you are a fan or a follower, how to recognize the invitation Jesus has given, and what following Jesus looks like in your daily life. With humor and real life examples to draw you closer to Jesus, Kyle Idleman compels each and every one of us to Not Be A Fan

Miracles: 32 Short Stories by Joanie Hileman – $4.99 A dying child counts angels in her room. A teenage boy stuns doctors by recovering from a massive brain injury. A bubble of protection surrounds a man about to be hit by a car…These miraculous accounts and twenty-nine more are recorded in Miracles: 32 True Stories.

“Almost every month I get a request to either read or edit a book or booklet, and to be honest, I dread to see them coming, because most of them are hardly worthy of a positive recommendation. When Joan asked me to read her Miracles, I was not looking forward to reading it at all … much to my surprise I could not stop reading it until I had read the entire book. Each story was different enough to keep my interest, and God’s finger-print was all over each of the stories told. There was never one bit of doubt who authored each of those stories…” BILL IRWIN, CHRISTIAN AUTHOR AND SPEAKER

Hymns and Homilies of St. Ephraim the Syrian by St. Ephraim the Syrian – $0.99 Born at Nisibis, then under Roman rule, early in the fourth century; died June, 373. The name of his father is unknown, but he was a pagan and a priest of the goddess Abnil or Abizal. His mother was a native of Amid. Ephraem was instructed in the Christian mysteries by St. James, the famous Bishop of Nisibis, and was baptized at the age of eighteen (or twenty-eight). Thenceforth he became more intimate with the holy bishop, who availed himself of the services of Ephraem to renew the moral life of the citizens of Nisibis, especially during the sieges of 338, 346, and 350. One of his biographers relates that on a certain occasion he cursed from the city walls the Persian hosts, whereupon a cloud of flies and mosquitoes settled on the army of Sapor II and compelled it to withdraw. The adventurous campaign of Julian the Apostate, which for a time menaced Persia, ended, as is well known, in disaster, and his successor, Jovianus, was only too happy to rescue from annihilation some remnant of the great army which his predecessor had led across the Euphrates. To accomplish even so much the emperor had to sign a disadvantageous treaty, by the terms of which Rome lost the Eastern provinces conquered at the end of the third century; among the cities retroceded to Persia was Nisibis (363). To escape the cruel persecution that was then raging in Persia, most of the Christian population abandoned Nisibis en masse. Ephraem went with his people, and settled first at Beit-Garbaya, then at Amid, finally at Edessa, the capital of Osrhoene, where he spent the remaining ten years of his life, a hermit remarkable for his severe asceticism.
Praying with the Church Fathers by Fr. John Paul Abdelsayed – $2.99 With great joy and enthusiasm we present to you, dear reader, Praying with the Church Fathers, a book about prayer in the writings and mind of the Early Church Fathers.

Prayer and theology should be deeply integrated into the life of every Christian. This echoes the maxim of Evagrius of Pontus: “The one who truly prays is a theologian, and the true theologian is one who prays.” Understanding this well, our great ecumenical fathers – such as Saint Athanasius, Saint Cyril, Saint Basil, Saint John Chrysostom, Saint Gregory, Mar Ephrem the Syrian, and many others – delivered a rich tradition of prayers that was passed on from generation to generation so that the pure Orthodox faith could be experienced, practiced and perfected through a life of prayer and worship.

Unfortunately, this rich tradition of prayer has become scarce in the world today. Our glorious Church has uniquely preserved the daily prayers in the Book of Hours and Psalmody in its tradition for all believers. Along with that rich life of prayer, we offer this small companion and guide to assist in the daily practice of continual prayer for all.

The Life and Prayers of Saint Padre Pio by Wyatt North

The Life and Prayers of Saint Padre Pio by Wyatt North – $2.99 One part biography, one part prayer book, The Life and Prayers of Saint Padre Pio is an essential for any Christian.

The foundation for Padre Pio’s work in the world was love. His love of God became intertwined with his love of humanity so that the two became inseparable and unwavering.

Padre Pio is notable not for his erudition or even his teachings, per se, but for the man he was and the intercessor he continues to be. Pio gave himself to Christ as a spiritual victim for the souls of sinners. With sweetness, humility, and good cheer, he brought everyone who encountered him closer to Christ.

People who met him understood immediately that they were in contact with a Christlike figure. Those who attended his Mass and saw his union with the divine felt as though they had witnessed in person Christ’s Passion on the Cross. During his lifetime, Padre Pio brought vast numbers back to devotion to Christ, and, as he himself foretold, in death he has been able to do still more.
